to clarify here are more details...
the deadline has not been established as this is an ongoing project, however
Fall 2005 is not unrealistic.
the platform for the interface is a windows environment.
a commonly available Dongle for the PC to connect with the Controller Area
Network (CAN) like CANusb or CAN232 is
apparently the best choice for the hardwire connection.
I offer my 2005 "test car" freely for experimentation. Shortly
I will have installed the engine, battery, and complete wiring harness into
some sort of compatable vehicle shell , my first choice is a convertable of
similar curb weight.
I also offer my extensive background ( 23 years) in Electronics Engineering.
Additionally I propose jointly marketing to automotive owners and mechanics
the user interface. I welcome your revisions, or if you have a better idea

the next step is to develope a model of the Prius Network and decipher whan
commands are what
I believe anyone who owns a vehicle should be allowed to tinker with it...in
the past this has lead to many inovations.
